Questions, Thoughts, Uncertainties #SOL20 Day 26/31

Questions, Thoughts, Uncertainties

Questions, thoughts, uncertainties

Are swirling in my head

They make me feel so dizzy

I want to go to bed.

Questions, thoughts, uncertainties

Keep me awake at night

I try to sort through news reports

To determine what is right.

Questions, thoughts, uncertainties

Churn in my stomach too

The news keep changing daily

There’s little I can do.

Questions, thoughts, uncertainties

With pen in hand I write

I take a walk into the woods

And hug my kids so tight.

I am excited to be writing daily in the March Slice of Life Challenge as hosted by Two Writing Teachers. This marks the fifth year I have participated in the 31 day challenge, writing and sharing a blog post each day.  I look forward to the growth in noticing the small moments in my life and capturing them on my blog.  I know I will be a better teacher of writers because of this work.

  1. I love the repeated line – it’s the truth of today – and boy, nothing’s truer than these lines: “I try to sort through news reports/To determine what is right.” More important now than ever. Those three things in your closing stanza – writing, walking outside, hugging children tight (I think that can apply to all loved ones and can be physical as well as hugging in thoughts, too) will get us through. And prayer. Such a poignant poem, Christine.
