Writing poems everyday this month has been a challenge, stretching my mind and writing prowess. Today we are inspired by poet Lucille Clifton who wrote short powerful poems. We are asked to consider topics that anger, challenge, disappoint, hurt, or bug me and to consider a hopeful solution. So many possibilities but the topic of economic equality came on the paper quickly. When I centered the text an corresponding shape came to life!
You
have
enough
assets
to construct
an oddly shaped
craft
and soar
above the
atmosphere
with others
who live
in your
wildly
affluent
world
Wouldn’t it
be nice
if you
could toss
a few extra
‘mil out the
window
to be caught
by those
who have
nothing
down below?
Love this!
